"RACE THE WAVE"
CCS History
Carteret County Speedway is nestled in rich racing history, starting
in the early years with the first generations of some of today’s premier
drivers having made laps at the only WKA sanctioned paved track in
Eastern North Carolina.
Drivers such Elliott and
Hermie Sadler raced there
along side of other now
seasoned drivers.
From nearby states, drivers would
flock to the beach bringing their
family and friends to compete for
purses in the thousands of dollars.
Local sponsors and fans were
blessed with some of the
finest racing around.
Bobby Watson has spent countless hours of hard work, dedication
and commitment to the re-building of this legendary track. He looks forward to what the future holds in being able to bring racing to the
community and fans.
